  “Food Preservation Basics”: An introduction to Food Preservation methods including canning, freezing and dehydrating. This topic will include information on preserving your garden’s harvest using proven at-home food methods.

• Bo Roddis, Conservation Specialist, Athens Land Trust
  “Handling Invasive Plant Species in North Georgia”: Bo will talk on managing invasive species in the Georgia Piedmont, many of which are common in our backyards, with a focus on environmental dangers, identification, and removal techniques. I will also include details about the summer conservation program that I help run with the Athens Land Trust (Young Conservation Stewards, or YCS), which focuses on eliminating harmful invasives from our area parks and reintroducing beneficial natives.

  “Seeds Today, Plant Tomorrow”: Saving seeds has been the norm for hundreds of years. Join us to learn methods to collect, preserve and store your favorite seeds. Trading seeds can be a great way to expand your gardens! We will have a few hands on examples.
