November No School Nature Day: Cherokee Heritage Exploration
Calling all young historians and nature enthusiasts! Join us for No School Nature Days, where visitors of all ages can delve into the rich heritage and culture of the Native American Cherokee.
Theme: Cherokee Heritage! Discover the skills, lifestyles, and abilities of the Cherokee people native to our region through hands-on programs, exhibits, and authentic artifacts!
Cherokee Heritage Program: Step back in time with our Cherokee Heritage program at 10:30am and 1:00pm! Participants will learn about the daily life, survival techniques, and cultural practices of the Cherokee. Experience firsthand the craftsmanship of actual tools, see authentic skins, and explore other fascinating specimens with our expert guides.
Live Animal Encounters: Meet fascinating creatures up close with our Elachee Naturalist, available throughout the day to guide you through enticing animal encounters and tours of our animal room!
Discovery Room Activities: Dive into the wonders of Cherokee culture with special crafts and activities inspired by their heritage and connection to nature. Fun for all ages but targeted for preschoolers and young elementary-aged children.
