Blue Door Special Event: Bob Place (One night only)
Bob Place is an American artist and entertainer based out of Atlanta, Ga. Born into a military family, Bob grew up in Okinawa, Japan. From a young age, Bob’s artistic talents were encouraged by his parents. At age 15, he had a role in the 2000 film Road Trip. Bob’s work is spread through a wide range of mediums. His band Swank Sinatra recorded three full-length albums and a live record. He writes, directs, and acts in his own skits and short films. In 2015, Bob’s first feature film American Dirtbags was released. The film was awarded the Special Jury Award at the Alexandria Film Festival. Bob also performs stand up comedy and magic for live audiences, as well as producing and performing in wild multi-media comedy shows. In addition to performance-based entertainment, he also makes psychedelic visual art and pencil drawn animations.
Bob is a pillar at the Laughing Skull Lounge and is the Director of the horror movie “Blood Mountain Massacre” and released his first comedy album “Raunchy” this past year. Bob is punk rock and not for the faint at heart.
