Summer Forum: The Flags They Flew – NEGA History Center

June 11 @ 7:00 pm

Join us for a special Flag Day event featuring Carter J. Wood, a ninth-generation veteran of the US Army with 22 years of service and a distinguished member of the Georgia Society, Sons of the American Revolution. Carter, a seasoned lecturer and dedicated volunteer, will present “The Flags They Flew,” showcasing the origins and development of our nation’s emblem on Tuesday, June 11th at 7:00 PM in the Ada Mae Ivester Education Center at the Northeast Georgia History Center.
Carter’s presentation includes a collection of 35 full-size, colorful flags displayed on a large roll-about rack. Accompanied by a presentation detailing the designers, symbolism, and combat history of each flag, Carter’s engaging narrative brings the history of the American flag to life.
